Earth Defense Force is best known for its B-movie production values, as evidenced by the melodramatic Earth Defense Force 5 trailer we posted earlier. But another installment is on the way courtesy of Yuke Media Creations: Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain.

To us, this looks like a more mature and polished version of the franchise. Here’s what D3 Publisher has said so far, «The Earth Defense Forces series moves away from its traditional series and enters new territory with this new project. Developed by Yuke and teamed with world-renowned artists to create a new Earth Defense Forces experience. Fight on an Earth ravaged by giant creatures in this thrilling third-person shooter.»

Israel Defense Forces (Hebrew: צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל (listen), Tseva HaHaganá LeYisrael, named with its acronym צה «ל, Tzáhal), is the generic name for the Israeli armed forces.

The government of Israel ratified the name Israel Defense Forces (Hebrew: צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל) in May 1948, which literally means Israel Defense Army. Other suggested names were Tzva Yisra’el (צְבָא יִשְׂרָאֵל). The first term was chosen as the idea of an army with defense duties of a newly created state was convenient. However various politicians and parties preferred in name Tzva Yisra’el.[3].
